Lady Lily-Grace

Lady Lily-Grace (formerly Lady and prior to that Didi) was originally rescued from a backyard breeder in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. A young family answered an advertisement from a breeder wanting to sell her; she was called Didi. The red flags arose immediately when the breeder wouldn’t allow them to visit where the dogs lived. They also wouldn’t provide any documentation.

When the young family first saw Lady Lily-Grace, they realised that the picture the breeder had painted online was very different to reality. She had fleas, was filthy, was unsprayed, and was very scared. They decided to adopt her anyway simply to remove her from the situation. They took her home, and they reported the breeder to the RSPCA.

Renamed Lady, her new family quickly realised that she was very traumatised. She had severe separation anxiety and would have toileting accidents when she heard unexpected noises, especially storms. She was surrendered to CKCSRQ.

Lady was cared for by an incredible CKCSRQ foster carer who helped her settle into a safe and loving home environment. She was fed a nutritional raw food diet and she underwent a full health check. It was found that she had a grade 4 heart murmur and ear infections.

On ANZAC Day 2020 she found her forever home. Renamed Lady Lily-Grace (after her forever Mum’s great-grandmother), this almost six-year-old angel lived the remainder of her days in a home where the dogs rule the roost and the humans exist to serve them. Her forever parents both work from home, have no human children, and she has two furry siblings who adored her.

Together with her furry siblings, she enjoyed daily ‘Sniffari’s' in her purpose-built ‘Doggy Sensory Garden’ where she would hunt for treats hidden amongst aromatic herbs. They would play enrichment brain games, go on daily explorative forest walks, and visit a private dog park a few times a week. She ate (and adored) a raw food diet, she slept in a King bed, snuggled up to her forever Mum, and she was so, so loved. Her separation anxiety subsided, along with her fear of noises. Her life is documented on her and her siblings Facebook and Instagram page The Pawsome Rescues.

Lady Lily-Grace spent her 11th birthday (24 July 2025) in the ICU at VSS, where she was diagnosed with a pulmonary blood clot and Cushing’s disease. Sadly, Lady Lily-Grace crossed the rainbow bridge on the 17th September 2025. She was eleven years old. Her forever family is absolutely devastated. She has left a ginormous hole in their hearts. Lady Lily-Grace will forever be loved, treasured, and remembered by her forever family.
